Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed
Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.
Meet the Ashburn Team Behind Level Two Chimney Ashburn
When you book a chimney cleaning in Ashburn, the person who shows up at your door is the person whose name was on the text we sent you an hour before. No mystery crews, no day laborers handed a brush. Our Ashburn team has swept, inspected, and repaired more than 38,000 chimneys since 2009 under one consistent set of rules: written price first, camera evidence on every visit, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise stuck to the work order. Corrine Halstead, the owner, built the crew around a simple test: would this person tell a homeowner the truth about a liner they don’t want to replace? The four people below pass that test every week.
Our People
Marcus T. – Lead Technician
Marcus has run chimney inspections and cleanings in Ashburn, Broadlands, and Lansdowne for eleven years, eight of them as Lead Technician. He’s NFPA 211 Level 2 camera-scan certified and handles most of our trickier firebox and smoke chamber inspections. Marcus is the one who will explain that a Class III creosote buildup – that’s the hard, shiny tar-like glaze that doesn’t come off with a brush – is a chimney fire waiting for a hot day, not a sales pitch. He’s also our resident skeptic when it comes to crown repairs: he’d rather show you the spalling on camera than tell you it’s there. On weekends he restores a 1987 BMW in his Leesburg garage, one rust patch at a time.
Dana R. – Senior Installer
Dana leads chimney liner and cap installs across Ashburn and Sterling, and she’s the reason our rebuild work comes out precise rather than “close enough.” She regularly installs DuraFlex and HeatShield systems and has built chimneys from crown to footing on three full rebuilds in Herndon alone. Her specialty is relining flues in older Ashburn Village colonials, where the original clay tiles are usually cracked by the time we get called. Dana will tell you plainly when a liner can wait a season – she’s not paid on commission, and she quotes the same price whether she’s chasing a job or turning one down. She keeps a laminated rainfall map of Loudoun County in her truck because our freeze-thaw cycles matter for crown work, and she will talk your ear off about cricket flashing if you let her.
Priya S. – Service Coordinator
Priya is the voice on the phone when you call (240) 220-9412, and yes, it’s always a live person – that’s been the rule since 2009. She’s been with the Ashburn team for six years and knows the service area well enough to guess your HOA’s chimney rules before you mention them. Priya handles scheduling, sends the written price confirmation before your appointment, and makes sure you get the tech’s name and arrival window by text the morning of the visit. She also reviews every photo report before it goes out, which means if a technician’s image is blurry, you don’t see it. She’s been known to reschedule a job over weather when it would compromise the camera scan, and she’ll tell you exactly why.
Ethan B. – Apprentice
Ethan joined the Ashburn crew two years ago after spending his first post-college year doing roof work in Chantilly. His current badge covers chimney sweeping, cap inspections, and setup support on liner jobs, and he shadows Marcus on all Level 2 inspections until he completes his certification hours. Ethan grew up in Ashburn Farm and still argues that the rec center pool there is better than the one at Riverside. He’s the one you’ll see hauling the HEPA vacuum and drop cloths, and he’s meticulous about the photo record – every angle, every reading, no exceptions. Corrine Halstead has said more than once that Ethan takes better job-site notes than technicians with a decade of experience.
One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this page works from the same script, because the Haven Standard doesn’t bend for a busy week or a difficult customer. Clause 1 of the Haven Standard requires a written price, written scope, and written warranty in your hand before anyone climbs a ladder in Ashburn. Clause 4 requires a documented photo record on every visit – not as an add-on, not if you remember to ask. If a competitor wrote you an estimate, we’ll give you a Free Second Opinion on it, no obligation. If the work isn’t done right, the 365-Day Done Right Promise is stamped on the job, and we make it right. That’s true whether Marcus is inspecting your chimney in Broadlands or Dana is rebuilding one in Herndon. Corrine built this team with one rule above the rest: report what you found, quote what it costs, and let the camera do the talking.
